Reflecting on 2019, he said: “I don’t know where the year has gone. The album going to No1 was amazing. The awards and touring, it’s hard to take it all in.

“I’m taking time off at Christmas because I’ve been pushing forward without having time to think.

“I’ll be at my fiancée’s house for the first time, then it’s back to my mum and dad and to see my gran in Scotland.

“I only spent 25 days in my own bed this year, so it’s well overdue.”

Tom will also finally be taking off his signature beanie hat: “I have an obsession. If I take it off, nobody has a clue who I am.”

Tom has yet to launch his own range of hats but that doesn’t mean the merchandis­e offers aren’t rolling in.

He added: “I teamed up with a company who created my own hot sauce recently.

“Plus I’ve got my own Tom Walker socks, and there is even a Tom Walker electric scooter.”

Make the most of him because Tom’s deluxe version of his album is a little farewell gift.

He explained: “I’m essentiall­y going away for a year now.

“It’s something to savour while I write the next album.

“There will be no tours, just a few festival dates.”
