Mahomes the Chief enforcer

- By

CHAMPIONSHIP Sunday is here with a rematch in both games – and a place in Super Bowl LIV at stake. In the AFC, the Tennessee Titans edged Kansas City Chiefs 35-32 in December.

But Patrick Mahomes was coming off his injury and that was a whole different Chiefs defence. That unit has improved and they’ve bought into what Steve Spagnuolo is doing.

The Titans have taken Mike Vrabel’s identity. They run the ball hard through Derrick Henry (below) but will need Ryan Tannehill to take shots down the field. They have to score touchdowns – not just field goals – to keep up with the Chiefs.what he did to the I expect them to double up on Travis Kelce after Texans last week and that will open up Tyreek Hill to have a big game. But I don’t think you can slow Mahomes for long. In the NFC, the Green Bay Packers taking on the San Francisco 49ers is another rematch – and last time out the 49ers were the bully.

This is all about who can run the ball. San Francisco need to do that because Jimmy Garoppolo likes to throw off play action between the numbers.

The Packers have been good with Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers on third down.

But this 49ers defensive line is dominant. They will attack Rodgers and need to establish the run through Aaron Jones.

I believe San Francisco is the better team but they’re going against Rodgers who has been there before and turned it on.

NICK BOSA

THE rookie leads the 49ers in sacks and is on his way to being Aaron Donald-like but he’s an extension of that whole D-line which will be key tonight.

LACHLAN COOTE says he was left wondering why Wayne Bennett even picked him for last year’s disastrous GB tour.
