A WOMAN was stunned when her husband ran off with her teenage son’s ex.

Nicola Adams was supportive when, at 16, her boy Shaun told her he was having a baby with his then-girlfriend Clare, even being present at the birth.

And she stepped in when the teens could not cope with baby Jayden.

After having taken on care of her grandson, Nicola’s marriage to Trevor,

41, suffered and they separated after more than 20 years together.

But that was not the end of her heartache. Trevor went on to date Clare, then

20, and got her pregnant.

Nicola, 37, said: “Trevor had barely uttered a word to Clare when Shaun brought her home to live with us.

“My mind raced and I began to think the unthinkable.

“Trevor couldn’t have left me for our teen son’s girlfriend…could he?”

Nicola and Trevor began dating when they were teenagers and planned to tie the knot, before she unexpectedly became pregnant at 16.

Shaun, their first child, was soon followed by Rees and Caitlyn. Emily, now six, came along later.

Nicola, who is from Birmingham, said: “I had the happy, bustling family I had always dreamed of, but there was one thing we still needed to do.

“And when we then finally wed in

2015 it was the happiest day of my life.” Soon after, Shaun introduced his mum to new girlfriend Clare.

Nicola said: “I knew she’d had a troubled past and was a few years older than my Shaun, but she was the first girl he’d brought home and I was proud and welcoming.

“I was happy for them, until Shaun announced he and Clare were having a baby.

“‘You’re too young to be a dad,’ I warned him, but they were determined to make it work. But I was touched when Clare asked me to be there at the birth.

“I loved babies and when little Jayden was born in May 2015, he quickly became the apple of his granny’s eye.” Mum-of-four Nicola’s instincts kicked in, and when Clare showed little interest in Jayden she took over.

Nicola added: “I relished my new role, but I could tell Trevor wasn’t happy. We were arguing constantly.

“Eventually, when Jayden was 18 months old, Trevor and I separated.

“It was heartbreaking, but Shaun and Clare’s relationship was on the rocks too, and I had to put my grandson first.”

A month later, a neighbour told her Trevor and Clare were dating and Nicola was shown a photograph of them together.

She said: “When I looked more closely, it looked like Clare was pregnant again.

“I rang Trevor and he mumbled a lie about staying at Clare’s as she was receiving his benefits. It was pathetic.”

Clare’s new baby was born in 2017.

Nicola said: “It was almost too much to bear when Shaun found out about his dad’s betrayal.

“Poor Shaun had to face the fact that his ex was now shacked up with his dad and that their son, Jayden, had a half-brother…by his grandad.”

Jayden, who is now four, still lives full-time with Nicola, who said: “Jayden is the only good thing to come out of this.”

Shaun said: “I never thought Trevor would sink that low. It’s just disgusting and wrong. I don’t have a relationship with Trevor at all.”

While Trevor said: “Yeah, it’s all true. I feel bad about everything that’s happened. It shouldn’t have happened, but it did happen.

“It is what it is. Shaun and I speak. I can understand how his attitude is towards me. It will take some time but I will get my son back. I know I’ve betrayed Shaun.”

Trevor is now separated from Clare, who said: “It’s all bullsh*t. They’re only doing this because I got rid of Trevor.”
