THE youngest double killers in British history have been branded “callous, ruthless and warped” by a top telly cop.
Kim Edwards and Lucas Markham were just 14 when they murdered Edwards’ mum and sister.
The sick pair then stayed in the house for two days – watching vampire film Twilight, having sex and eating ice cream just metres from the dead bodies.
It’s a case so twisted that even former Scotland Yard detective Peter Bleksley, who appeared on the TV show
Hunted, was shocked.
He said: “The fact that they could have stayed in the house watching telly and having sex while there were two dead bodies upstairs astounds me.
“It tells me that the callousness, the ruthlessness and the severely warped thinking of these two teenagers is a cause for deep concern.
“Not only were these crimes callous, they were absolutely cowardly for they were carried out while the victims slept in their beds.”
Despite being just 14, Markham carried out a brutal attack on Edwards’ mum Liz, 49, in Spalding, Lincs, in 2016.
He used a kitchen knife to slash her throat before knifing her eight times. Moments later he stabbed Edwards’ sister Katie, 13, in the neck. It was all planned by the couple as part of a family “grudge”. Peter, 59, said: “For anybody to carry out an attack like this, it’s truly shocking.
“But for a 14-year-old boy to show this level of violence and determination to snuff out somebody else’s life, I find that deeply, deeply concerning. “Sadly, crimes like this happen too frequently, but they’re usually carried out by adults who have some kind of grudge motive or heightened threat of some form for crimes. “For something this vicious, this callous, to be carried out by a pair of children is thankfully unusual, but of course deeply worrying. “Youngsters of 14 should be enjoying themselves, playing with their friends, reading, studying, going to the park or, in these days, on their phones and their iPads…not carrying out double murders.” Markham and Edwards were sentenced to a minimum of 17 years behind bars.
