- EXCLUSIVE by ED GLEAVE

said: “I feel like David’s golden buzzer has got a really strong chance of winning.

“I would love an act like that to win because they, for me, are the heart and soul of this show.

“Everyone’s going to relate and connect to them.”

Looking back on the day the choir auditioned in Manchester, David, 48, said: “There was something about the euphoria of them on the stage, that feeling I had is a very special feeling.”

Other acts that impressed on last night’s show included St Anne’s Gospel Choir, hiphop dance troupe Nu Crew and contortionist Papi Flex.

BGT continues next Saturday on ITV.

BOSS Simon Cowell struggled to get BGT commissioned at the start, in 2007. He said: “Nobody wanted it.”

KILLING Eve became a global hit because of its delicious violence and dark humour.

And the new series hits the ground running with a murder and a punch-up within the first few minutes. But then the pace slows and it’s easy to lose interest. There is too much time spent

LOVE Island bosses have been working “around the clock” to get the show on air this summer.

The ITV2 hit has been thrown into crisis by the global pandemic.

But execs are refusing to let that get in the way of the new series.

Show staff have been told to do “everything they can” to make it happen.

An insider said: “The production team is now doing everything possible to prepare for the new series.

“It’s a difficult time but it’s a case of ‘all systems go.’ They’re scene-setting and not enough drama.

Thankfully, actress Jodie Comer is as mesmerising as ever as Villanelle – its jewel in the crown.

And her scenes just about save the day. It’s determined not to let the virus stop the series going ahead.

“Obviously they can’t have meetings or meet potential contestants. But clear there’s plenty of action coming up this series.

But by starting with a fairly lacklustre episode, there’s a risk many fans won’t stay to see it. they’re finding ways of done in a different way.

“Lots of the casting process is being done via video calls.”

Bosses aim to start the new series in July – a month later than usual. But if that can’t happen, they will delay again rather than scrap it.

The insider added: “It can be put back again and again.

“If the series can’t air until right at the end of the year, then so be it. It will still happen.”

ITV’s top brass are said to be “really keen” for the show’s new series to go ahead. The hit getting things format is one of the network’s biggest money-spinners, making millions every year through advertising, sponsorship deals and merchandise sales.

An ITV source said: “They will move heaven and earth to get it on air at some point this year.”

A string of other shows are facing problems due to coronavirus.

Britain’s Got Talent’s live shows have been postponed until later this year.

Filming for The Apprentice has had to be delayed indefinitely, meaning the new series may have to be scrapped.

And all of the soaps have also had to stop filming.
