HAIM sister act pays off SIBLINGS KIND OF A BIG DEAL

-

PETE Doherty has not been plundering the emergency

B&H stash during lockdown.

Well, not all the time, because he’s also recorded new music with rockers Trampolene.

Uncle Brian’s Abattoir was written and recorded during the coronavirus lockdown in Swansea, London and Normandy, with Pete emailing his contribution from France.

Trampolene singer Jack Jones said: “It’s taken straight out of a child’s imagination. It has taken on another meaning for me lately as it is also about slowly going mad being stuck indoors during the lockdown.”

THEY’VE played music together the majority of their lives, but only now are hitting their peak.

The Californian sisters Danielle, Este and Alana Haim return with their much-delayed third LP, Women in Music Pt. III, on June 26 and they finally feel ready to take on the world.

Lead vocalist Danielle said: “It just comes down to us being the most confident we’ve ever been with our music. And about how we look.”

It doesn’t just show in the music – all three women seem closer than ever, too.

Danielle agreed: “We always check with each other on everything, even Instagram posts.”

While Este added: “I definitely come up with the really funny captions. That’s what I bring to the band.”

Danielle wrote much of the album about her boyfriend’s battle with cancer.

She added: “It was kind of all coming down on me.” She is normally the quiet one in the band, but it inadvertently unlocked Danielle’s voice on the record and during promotion – and her sisters loved it.

Este joked: “The bigger news is that Danielle is actually talking on this record cycle.”

The trio took part in Radio 1’s virtual Big Weekend for the Bank Holiday, performing live via a feed.

Este said: “The thought of not being able to play… it’s heartbreaking.

“I keep looking through old tour videos and old photos like a total psychopath.

“Touring for me is weirdly like a significant other.” Finally releasing their third album will be a relief for Danielle, considering the Covid-19 pandemic.

She added: “We want it out for the summer. It’s an embrace of the chaos.”

THERE is a silver lining to Ozzy Osbourne having to cancel his tour – he’s spending more time with the family.

Illness coupled with the pandemic means the Prince Of Darkness has become a couch potato.

He said: “I have never been home so much in my life. But I am getting ready for the road.”

Daughter Kelly said: “This is the longest time my dad has ever been in one place.”
