Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire on how he’s keeping up both fitness and partying in lockdown

Just one look at Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire’s Instagram feed and you’ll see he’s one very fit guy. Before lockdown happened, he spent hours in the gym and he’s a big advocate for the mental health benefits of working up a sweat.

But that’s not to say that the 24 year old doesn’t like to play hard, too. When he’s not filming E4’s Made In Chelsea, he’s out partying with his co-stars, including best pal Emily Blackwell. And while the show is currently off-air, the gang are still enjoying nights together with the help of technology.

Here, Miles, who lives with YouTuber Jack Maynard, tells us about adapting his workouts and shares his plans for the future…

Hi Miles. How’s it going?

It’s been a bit of a tricky one because I’m someone who is usually out of the house all day, every day. I rarely stay indoors. But me and my housemate Jack said to each other that we’ve got to enjoy it. We have to embrace the fact we have time off and can take a breather.

How did you and Jack meet?

I went out for my best friend Emily’s birthday and Jack was there. I’d met him before very briefly and I remember thinking that he was an arrogant little boy. But this time we hit it off. He’s such an easy guy to hang out with.

I was waiting to move into a new place, he was waiting to do the same, so we thought, ‘Let’s move in together.’ It’s going really well.

Have you done anything fun?

We made a mini-golf course in the flat, which was brilliant. I’ve also bought an American football and have been playing like I’m going to join the NFL.

It looks like you haven’t let lockdown stop you working out...

Fitness is a massive part of my life, so training is so important to me. If I can’t do it, mentally it’s hard. It’s such a weird time for everyone but I’m trying to keep on top of it, even if it’s just for 45 minutes a day.

What exercises do you like?

In normal life, I wake up early to go to the gym for an hour’s cardio. Then I go back in the afternoon and do an hour-and-a-half to a two-hour heavy weight session. My favourite body part to train is shoulders and triceps.

How about now?

I’m doing lots of full-body exercises using my own body weight to make sure I maintain my fitness. It’s hard because when you’re used to my other regime, which is pretty intense and includes almost four hours a day, it’s now gone down to a maximum of an hour. A couple of years ago a friend of mine also told me skipping was one of the best things in terms of cardio fitness, so I started doing that. When I started I was horrendous, I kept whipping my legs, but now it’s really fun.

What’s your diet like at the moment?

Normally, it’s very, very regimented. But at the moment it’s hard to keep track. I’ve been eating what I want and enjoying it. My favourite is a 28in pizza. It’s huge! But then we also get chicken strips. That’s our go-to on a Saturday night.

Are you missing MIC?

Yeah. I miss hanging out with Tristan Phipps, Harvey Armstrong and Emily. They’re my friends I usually see day-to-day. And I’m missing filming as I love my job. We’re very lucky and fortunate to be able to do it. Although it’s nice to have a break, especially when drama hits, and there was a fair bit of that last season!

How are you all keeping in touch?

We’ve been using the Houseparty app a lot. I’m on that most nights. My sleeping pattern is terrible at the moment – we go to bed at about 4am. We’ve also been FaceTiming and drinking together and playing games.

You and Tiff Watson started dating. Is romance still on the cards?

The lockdown has come at the worst time for that. She’s just come back into the MIC social group and is recently single, so we started talking. We’ll have to wait and see what happens…

What’s the biggest misconception about you?

When I first started MIC a lot of people thought I was a lothario and player. And I think I was back then. I was young, dumb and wanted to go out and party all the time. However, since I’ve been training and taking care of myself, I’m a huge believer in bettering myself every day and having positive energy.

What’s next for you?

I really want to push myself, whether that’s a crazy fitness challenge or something else. I watch a lot of Ross Edgley, he’s huge in the fitness industry and swam around England. I might not make it to that, but it’s definitely something I’d like to look into. I’d also love to own my own gym.

Your housemate Jack’s just been on Celebrity SAS:Who Dares

Wins. Do you fancy that?

I was so jealous when I found out he got that gig! It’s such a good show and something I’ve always wanted to do. Physically, I wouldn’t be too worried, but it’s the mental side.
