I’m Gunner be all over you Luiz, warns Billy

BILLY SHARP has promised to put Arsenal defender David Luiz under the spotlight again during their FA Cup clash today.

Luiz is eligible to play after serving his two-match ban for being sent off in a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City which was blamed on the erratic Brazilian.

And Sheffield United star Sharp insists although he likes Luiz, he’ll be aiming to pile more misery on the Gunners star.

“He’s a great guy actually. He is always very talkative but after the game he is a nice fella,” he said.

“He is a very talented footballer but he does make a few errors which has cost him in that game at City where he was fault for a goal then the red card didn’t help him.

“He is good on the ball but he takes chances and it is something we will definitely target if he plays.

“As a striker, you need to try and get the edge on your opponents so we’ll try and create something in our favour.

“But he is a very good footballer, no doubt about that. Some people think differently but he wouldn’t be at Arsenal if he wasn’t.”

The veteran striker is fired up to grasp what could be his last shot of playing in a semi-final.

And he’s urging his Blades team-mates to be ‘brave’ as they battle to end a post-lockdown run of three straight defeats.

Sharp (below) added: “I’m 34 and these chances don’t come around very often and I have been saying that to the boys.

“It’s an unbelievable opportunity to get to the semi-final of the FA Cup and it’s something we believe we can do.

“It’s been disappointing but it can all change so quickly, especially with Wembley at the end of it.

“Obviously it’s a huge ask to get past Arsenal but we believe we can win it.

“We’ve shown we can beat them at Bramall Lane. We’ve not been up to scratch at the minute but we were bang at it before lockdown.

“If you’d said at the start that we’d be eighth in the league and in the quarter-finals, we’d have jumped at it.

“The last three games have been disappointing, and we don’t want the season petering out. We want to finish on a high.

“People wrote things about us – they still are – so we want to win for us, our friends, the fans, our family and show what we are about.

“We go in as second, favourites but we think we can win if we raise ourselves five per cent.

“It’s about being braver.”
