door at some point. But that’s the reality of Burnley.”

Dyche was critical of his board’s financially cautious approach last week after they failed to re-sign a group of out-of-contract first-teamers.

The manager added: “We’re in a position where we can look after players to a certain level of course and then say no basically.

“How long that goes is usually down to a fee and how big the fee gets. That’s life at Burnley and a lot of other clubs.”

Meanwhile, Palace boss Roy Hodgson is sweating on the fitness of Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke.

Zaha limped out of Crystal Palace’s 4-0 defeat by Liverpool on Wednesday with a calf injury while Benteke missed the trip to Anfield with a muscle strain.

Hodgson said: “We don’t know yet whether Wilf will be fit for Burnley.

“He had treatment so didn’t train but we’re still hopeful the time we have will see him recover from the minor injury because we’d like him to play.

“We’re not writing off yet the chances of

Wilf and Christian Benteke taking part in the game.

“Luka Milivojevic and Vicente Guaita look like they will be fit enough to play so we should be a bit stronger than we were on Wednesday night.

“I rate Guaita’s chances very highly and with Zaha and Benteke we will have to wait and see.”

GARRY MONK says his Sheffield Wednesday side are fit and raring to go for a relentless round of fixtures to end the season.

Monk is pleased with the options available to him at Bristol today.

He said: “We’ve done everything, the players have done absolutely everything they can.

“They’ve done the work they should have and now they are each trying to change their situations and force their way in.

“Hopefully that’s the start of that and it shows in the games.

“Whatever next season looks like, we hope we’ve already started that process.”
