Testing time for Robinson

-

WYCOMBE players will be inspired by memories of their lost supporters as they look to seal a Wembley place tomorrow night.

More than

50 cardboard cut-outs of fans who have recently died will be on display at Adams Park.

They include former president Monty Seymour as well as fan Mark Bird, who died following a heart attack at a match earlier this season.

The Chairboys are in control of the tie having won

4-1 at Fleetwood on Friday.

OXFORD boss Karl Robinson has hit out at the EFL for forcing sides in the play-offs to take a financial hit.

The Us – along with Portsmouth, Wycombe and Fleetwood – must fund testing for their remaining games and pay players. Other League One clubs continue to benefit from government schemes.

And Robinson reckons the three who do not win promotion will be at a financial disadvantage.

He said: “What I find unfair is we had a lot of people who decided not to finish the season off, who kept their players on furlough.

“That means they are making up for four or five games they missed out on.

“The EFL do not seem bothered in helping the teams that are in the play-offs and don’t go up. We have to pay for testing and we don’t get any help as we’re not allowed any fans in. It’s a bit of a mess.”

League One clubs voted to end the campaign early except for the play-offs.

“It’s a bit embarrassing, we should have carried on playing the season,” said Robinson.

“One of these four teams will get to the Promised Land, everyone else will have lost.”

Oxford take on Portsmouth at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow with the tie poised at 1-1.
