Slimmer’s revenge on bullies

A WOMAN tormented for her size has lost six stone – and is rejecting advances from her bullies.
Maici Quirke weighed more than 15st after bingeing on chocolate and crisps.
Tired of the bullying, the 19-year-old switched treats for the treadmill.
And now the lads who tormented her at school are desperate to date her.
Maici said: “I was bullied a lot in secondary school for my weight, which made me go on stupid diets which made me really unwell.
“I was a very secret eater. I would eat in my room alone so no-one could see me, and I would binge on everything from chocolate to ice cream to crisps.”
Maici had a wake-up call two years ago when she noticed for the first time a giant stretch mark across her upper body.
The student midwife added: “I looked in the mirror for the first time in a while and saw I had one stretch mark that went from the bottom of my stomach all the way to under my breast.
“I was so shocked that I’d let myself get this big and suddenly felt motivated to change it all.”
Maici, of Bristol, signed up to the gym and gave her diet a complete overhaul. Now 9st 6lb,
Maici has been in a relationship for four years. But she is being chatted up by the same boys who made her life absolute hell while at school.
She said: “Some people who bullied me in school, who genuinely made me feel so low and depressed, have been wanting to meet me and wanting to chat me up.
“I just see straight through all of them and just understand how shallow they are. I even had a lot more people looking at me in the gym, talking to me in the gym. I never had anything like that before.”
Maici’s new body did not come easily. She swapped all the junk food for a healthier diet of fruit, nuts and high protein meals.
And she adopted a gruelling workout routine. Maici added: “I definitely now notice a complete change in attitude in the way in which boys treat me.
“My boyfriend Mathew is so proud of me now and he can see how much more confident I am.
“This new influx of male attention is something that he himself has had to get
used to.”
