DRAGONS ‘SHAME’ OF COMIC RUSSELL

- By JAMES DESBOROUGH

COMEDIAN Russell Kane is a Dungeons & Dragons nerd and still spends hours playing the fantasy board game.

But Russ, 44, admits he is so ashamed of his obsession that he has never even used it as material for his comedy on his stage. The married dad still meets up with a bunch of friends who he played with as a teenager.

He evens sneaks into Games Workshop stores to buy models and makes maps to go with his adventures. Kane poses as a “cleric” character and loves to fight orcs and goblins for hours every night.

Speaking on the When No One’s Watching podcast, he said: “It is the uncoolest thing you can possibly do.

“It’s not something I even talk about on stage.

There must be some level of shame because I’ve never spoken about it.

“Even at school it was something which was suppressed and hidden.”

Horrified podcast host Matt Willis, of the band Busted, told him: “This sounds like it’s hours of bullsh** to me.”
