Lonely Is The Hardest for rock rebel Suzi
SUZI Quatro has revealed she has battled crippling loneliness her whole life.
The singer, 70, said she has felt alone since she was a youngster, despite having four siblings.
Suzi said: “Lonely is a common theme for me, which is a little confusing because I was from such a huge family.
“In all honesty, I always felt like the odd one out.”
Suzi also had tough times during her first marriage to fellow songwriter Len
Tuckey. She added: “The most lonely you can be is when you are with someone and still feel alone.
“Being alone in a relationship is the worst kind of lonely.”
But Suzi says heartache helped make her famous. The star, who recorded the song Lonely Is The Hardest in 1979, said: “I talk a lot about lonely. It’s something I have known my entire life.
“I think if I ever lose this lonely, I will not be the artist I am.”
Her book Through My Words is out on July 27 with New Haven Publishing.
