BRONSON: I’D BE NO DUMMY AS ACT ON BGT

- EXCLUSIVE by Chief Reporter

NOTORIOUS lag Charles Bronson would love to appear on Britain’s Got Talent – as a ventriloquist.

The hardman is hooked on the show and tunes in every week from his cell.

And he is desperate to impress with his act when he is freed.

Bronson, 67, has been working on it for the past six years and believes he could even win the ITV show.

He said: “When I get out, if I was ever tempted on to something like reality TV, it would be Britain’s Got Talent.

“I love that show. I’ve been working on my ventriloquism in jail and I think it will really impress people.”

His son George said: “Obviously, he doesn’t have any props in jail, but when I visit he goes through the motions and it’s hilarious.

“He pretends this imaginary dummy is in an imaginary suitcase, then pulls him out and sits him on his knee and they have a natter.

“Then there’s a big twist at the end, but I can’t spoil the ending. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen – and that’s without the props.” Bronson, currently at HMP Woodhill, Milton Keynes, said Simon Cowell was his favourite judge – but he has a crush on Alesha Dixon.

He said: “Simon is the best and I have a thing for Alesha. She’s one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen.” Bronson, one of Britain’s longestserving prisoners, is coming up for parole next month.

He was first jailed for seven years for armed robbery in 1974 but has had his sentence repeatedly extended for a string of attacks on prison guards.

He was considered too dangerous to mix with other inmates and has spent much of his time in solitary confinement. But these days he says he is much more “mellow” and spends his time painting, exercising and watching TV.

He also confessed to being a fan of Peter Kay’s Car Share. He said: “That is another of my absolute favourites. I love it. That man has got funny bones. He’s a genius.”
