“I heart Wines sent us all prosecco and a pack with everything you could want in it – glasses, wigs, banners. It was nice to let my hair down and have a drink.”

The hens were entertained by Flash Jordan, who has starred in Magic Mike

Live in London’s West End. Bijal said: “We’ve all seen the Magic Mike films and been to London to see the show, so we were so excited about having one of them at the virtual party.

“Flash Jordan was incredible. Let’s just say he’s been going to the gym a lot.

“He’s a very talented dancer. All of the girls were so excited – they were trying to invite him to my wedding.

“He got us to do a game where you had to run around finding items at your home and if you couldn’t find it, you had to drink. Quite a few of the girls were tipsy.

“We didn’t know what it would be like having a stranger on the call, but he was so down to earth.

“He was so funny and genuinely got to know us all. He was only meant to be on the call for half an hour, but he stayed longer.”

Fiancé Mitesh wasn’t too happy, though. Bijal laughed: “He did not want to be around.

“In fact, he didn’t want to know anything about it. I think he was a bit jealous of Flash Jordan. But he did record a sweet video message for me which was played on the night.”

Bijal has been at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 as an operating department practitioner with the NHS.

When she was meant to be getting married, she was at work putting her life on the line to save patients.

She said: “The past few months have been really challenging. I work in the theatre and some of our procedures have been high risk.

“It can be mentally challenging, so it was nice to have a night off from all that stress with the hen do.”

Bijal and Mitesh, who met at college when they were teenagers, are now hoping to get hitched next May.

She said: “We’re still on edge because obviously we’re not in the clear. At the moment you’re only allowed to invite 30 people to a wedding.

“We might have to take it to 2022. It feels like our whole life is on hold at the moment.”
