MICAH RICHARDS plans to take his coaching badges – if only to ensure that his career as a media pundit continues to grow.

The former Manchester City, Aston Villa and England defender (below) has become a growing presence on TV and radio this season after being forced to retire at 31 last summer due to a knee injury.

He said: “I will take my bagdes at some stage – not to move into coaching necessarily but to have a better understanding of the game.”

Richards famously swore on camera after his late equaliser for City against Villa 14 years ago.

He said: “City arranged some media training for me and I learned the importance of considering the answer you want to give before you start

to speak.”
