Stars call for ban on gay ‘treatments’
SIR Elton John, Stephen Fry and Dua Lipa are among stars campaigning for a ban on gay conversion therapies.
The celebrities signed an open letter to Women and Equalities Minister Liz Truss demanding an end to controversial treatments which aim to change a person’s sexuality.
MPs Layla Moran and Angela Eagle also signed the letter, which says: “Let’s ban ‘conversion therapy’ for all lesbian, gay, bi, trans and gender-diverse people of all ages.
“Until you do, torture will continue to take place on British soil.”
Charity Stonewall says the “therapy” treats a person’s sexuality as an illness which can be cured.
