YOUR OWN ROOM WITH A VIEW

- By ISOBEL DICKINSON

A KITTEN cheated death by a whisker when a sicko threw him from a moving car on a busy main road.

Police are now hunting the fiend who launched a bag containing two kitties out of the back window.

Cars narrowly avoided crashing as they swerved to avoid the animals on the street.

One of the cats was killed. But Lucky, as he has now been named, was rescued by Paddy Harrison, who saw the horrific incident as it unfolded.

Paddy, 22, said: “The kittens were flung out into the road by someone in the back seat.

“Whoever it was threw them out backwards.

“It could have caused a serious accident.”

Police and the RSPCA are searching for the driver of the white Mercedes B Class and examining CCTV footage.

The incident took place on the Driffield to Kilham Road in East

Yorkshire between 8am and 9am on Friday, July 10. There was a bus in front of the Mercedes and it is hoped its CCTV will have captured the incident. Though one of the kittens was run over and killed, Lucky managed to escape with just injuries to her paw. Paddy added: “We have adopted the surviving kitten and called her Lucky.

“She’s settled in nicely and she’s getting on well with our two other rescue cats. “The vet checked her over and she has a small blood blister on her paw.”

A local Facebook group is urging anyone who saw the Mercedes in the vicinity of the incident, or who may have footage, to contact the police. One person posted: “What a vile thing to do, I hope the evil bastards are found and brought to justice. Cruelty beyond belief.”

VIRTUAL vistas are to replace boring window views at home for those who have missed out on their holidays.

Premier Inn has created a digital screen which fits over a window and helps people choose beautiful places to explore.

MD Simon Ewins said: “We wanted to give them a taste of views available to them this summer.”
