The former One Direction star scored a huge hit in the shape of Polaroid with Jonas two years ago, but since then his solo career has stalled.

Jonas, real name Guy Robin, told me: “Liam messaged me and JP Cooper. I wrote Polaroid with JP and he messaged us both to say he wants to get back in the studio.

“We have a good connection so I’m down for that.” With more than 11billion streams to his name it’s no wonder people are clamouring to work with him.

He added: “I did a string of records with Rita Ora, Tiesto, Joe Jonas, Liam, but I really like what I did at the start of my career – developing new acts like when I found JP Cooper.

“I would love another record with Rita. She’s an amazing vocalist and we keep in contact, plus there’s hopefully something down the line with Shawn Mendes too.”

Before then he has a new single of his own called Naked, featuring US singer Max.

Jonas said: “I’ve been wanting to make this kind of music my whole life. I made sure I got all the right elements for Naked, it’s old school funk, perfect disco music so something new from me.”

It’s certainly a funky curveball, but the perfect time to experiment seeing as Ibiza clubs are all closed this summer. That hasn’t stopped him going out there.

He said: “I’m heading out to Ibiza to go to chill and see friends who are plotting parties for 2021 now.

“There’s a few beach parties on but really just I have to be on the island even if I’m not DJing. I’m looking at buying property.”

The North of Ibiza is where the elderly German tourists famously like to get naked. Jonas said: “Yeah, I’ll hang with the Germans.”
