RIVAL lines Royal Caribbean and Norwegian have teamed up to fight the coronavirus.

The industry giants are working together to develop enhanced health and safety standards.

Their Healthy Sail Panel has spent a month working on recommendations for cruise lines’ public health responses to the Covid-19 crisis.

Made up of experts in public health, infectious disease, biosecurity, hospitality and maritime operations, it aims to get fleets ready for the safe resumption of cruising operations. Royal Caribbean chief Richard D. Fain said of the panel: “This unprecedented disease is requiring us to develop unprecedented standards in health and safety.”

Norwegian boss Frank Del Rio, inset, added: “We compete for the vacationing consumer’s business every day, but we never compete on health and safety standards.”

THIS hotel couldn’t be any closer to the magic – it is right over the entrance to Disneyland Park.

Because it’s so close, you can be at the turnstiles and into the park within seconds, to really make the most of your day.

We loved being at the centre of the action – it almost feels like you’re staying in the park.

The five-star hotel’s architecture is inspired by the Victorian era and it looks beautiful lit up at night.

The hotel’s location means some rooms boast a view of the park’s Main Street USA area and the spire of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

The rooms sleep up to four and are beautifully decorated.

If you want to splash the cash there are swish suites themed around classic Disney films, such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

Guests can enjoy top-notch dining at Inventions, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci and Jules Verne. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, top service and decor, as well as the extensive menu.

There’s also the California Grill, with a more expensive gourmet menu.

If you’d like to wind down with a cocktail, the hotel has its own piano bar Café Fantasia.

There is plenty to keep kids entertained when they’re not enjoying the parks.

The hotel has a Mad Hatter’s Game Room which has video games.

For the younger ones there is the Fantasia-themed Minnie Club Playroom, which is supervised.

There’s also boutique, Gallerie Mickey which has everything from beautiful ornaments to essentials such as toiletries.
