Del Boy: I nearly lost my Trotters LAWNMOWER SCARE
JUST in case Isabelle was not eye-catching enough, this high-vis get-up makes her ne-on impossible to ignore.
The 24-year-old beauty, from Surrey, has just finished sunning herself on the other side of the world but is already wondering when she will next feel some heat.
Isabelle said: “Just came back from Thailand visiting my father and where is
ONLY Fools and Horses star Sir David Jason almost lost his toes in a horror lawnmower accident.
He feared he had chopped them off while gardening at home.
The actor, famed for playing Derek “Del Boy” Trotter, recalled: “Mowing down an incline, I slipped and my natural reaction was to pull whatever I was holding on to towards me – which at that moment in time was a whirring blade. Ouch.
“I found myself in an ambulance on the way to the local hospital. The advice never to mow the lawn in slippy shoes should be heeded.”
Sir David, 80, credits NHS heroes for saving the day – and his toes.
He added: “The A&E department were fantastic and also skilled in cutting off my shoe, which I hadn’t dared to remove myself in case I found a few too many loose toes in there.
“When a brave nurse eventually took a closer look, she found the big toe attached to my foot by the smallest amount of skin, and two other toes badly injured.”
The incident at his home in Crowborough, Essex, left poor Sir David traumatised.
But he joked: “A surgeon was called and I ended up on an operating table, followed by three days in hospital. When they told me off for not wearing the appropriate footwear for mowing, I very nearly didn’t have a leg to stand on – well, a foot.
“Fortunately I wasn’t working at the time, but throughout my career I have had to stand on my own two feet. And thanks to the NHS, I have been able to do so.”
