Love Island Alex family heartbreak
RELATIVES of PC Andrew Harper have blasted one of his teenage killers for whingeing about missing out on family celebrations and bragging: “I’ll be out one day.”
Albert Bowers, who had heckled onlookers and fell asleep in the dock during his trial over the death of the 28-year-old officer, wrote the letters from his cell saying he was “bored”.
In the images posted on Facebook by his mother Donna, Bowers, pictured above left, wrote: “I know it probley wont [sic] [be] the best birthday but I’ll be out one day and we will have a better day wont
[sic] we.
“I pot [sic] two golf piks [sic] in that I done while I’ve been sat in me room bored.”
PC Harper’s family said the 18-year-old, along with killers Henry
Long, 19, and Jessie Cole
(above right), 18, robbed their family of a lifetime of memories last August.
Grandfather Cyril
Shrimpton, 84, said: “It’s all very well for Bowers to send his mother birthday cards and drawings because he’s bored in prison. But we’ll never again get a card or a phone call from our grandson Andrew.
“We’ll never be able to celebrate birthdays, Christmases or anniversaries together.
“All he cares about is himself.”
The family are appalled by the trio’s convictions for manslaughter, rather than murder.
PC Harper’s gran Maureen Shrimpton, 77, said: “He was the perfect grandson.
“He should have gone home that night but he took the extra job on – that sums him up.”
PC Harper, of Thames Valley Police, was dragged to his death in Berkshire when he got caught in a strap attached to the gang’s car.
The trio are due to be sentenced on Friday.
LOVE Island star Dr Alex George has thanked wellwishers for their support following the sudden death of his younger brother.
The reality TV contestant’s brother Llyr, 19, was due to start at medical school next month.
A&E doctor Alex, 30, said on Instagram: “I can’t quite believe I am actually writing this post. I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health. I love you so much Llyr.”
Later he added: “Thank you for all the messages of kindness here and to my phone. I am incredibly grateful of the support and it means so much.
“I am sorry that I can’t reply yet. I need to try and process what has happened somehow. We are hurting so bad. No words can explain. As a family we are devastated.”
Alex said Llyr was “the kindest, most caring soul”.
Fellow 2018 Love Island contestant Wes Nelson wrote: “So sorry to hear this Alex! Stay strong I love you mate!”
