British actor Malcolm McDowell has worked with some of the biggest names in cinema history.

And the Clockwork Orange star says he signed up for his latest movie to knock another name off his bucket list.

“I got involved with The Big Ugly to work with Vinnie Jones,” he revealed.

“I’m a big fan. He’s a lovely guy too. He’s been through a lot, as you know”.

Last July, Jones’ wife Tanya died after a six-year battle with cancer.

According to director Scott Wiper, it was Tanya who instigated the film by asking him to write a “tender” role for her husband.

She also “green-lit” the shoot by insisting it shouldn’t be cancelled due to her illness.

“I think he does very well,” said McDowell. “What’s going on behind those eyes? He’s got all that going on. It’s a very interestin­g performanc­e.”

In the film, McDowell and Jones play Harris and Neelyn, London mobsters who head to West Virginia to launder money via a dodgy oil company.

But when Neelyn’s wife is murdered by the oil man’s psycho son, Jones’ grieving thug breaks the deal to exact his revenge.

McDowell said: “I thought Scott and all the cast did sterling work. We shot in

Kentucky in a very isolated place. Visually, it made it. Steaming hot. The big outing on any day off was to Wal-Mart. You went there to cool down”.

McDowell turned 77 last month but shows no sign of slowing down.

He has worked throughout lockdown, recording animated roles and narrations from his home in southern California.
