GIGGS LIKES NEW-LOOK UNITED

- By HARRY PRATT

RYAN GIGGS says Manchester United are finally worth watching again.

The United legend was part of the last Old Trafford title-winning side in 2013 and has witnessed the club’s decline since – both from the inside and the outside.

Giggs (right) – after calling time on the most decorated career in English football – spent two seasons as assistant to Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman was one of three United bosses who failed to repeat the success of Sir Alex Ferguson’s glorious 27-year reign.

David Moyes did not even last a season while Jose Mourinho, who replaced Van Gaal, survived two and a half years before getting the chop. Many predicted current boss

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was heading for the same fate before he inspired a superb run to secure a top-four finish last weekend helped by freescoring Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

For Giggs, the return of a United side that loves to attack, ck, score goals and play with verve ve is amazing to see – and nd more significant than n silverware at this point.

The Wales boss, who won 13 Premier League titles, said: “You get cycles in all sports and d it’s very hard to stay on top op all the time.

“But now, as a United fan, I look at the players and I’m thinking, ‘Yes, those are players I enjoy watching’. They look like Man United players.” Giggs, 46, added: “Moyes didn’t last a season and the recruitment was all over the place.

“You had Sir Alex players, then Moyes players, then Van Gaal with a different philosophy and different players. Then you’ve got Mourinho coming in with his group.

“So you’ve got this mix of cul cultures but are they really United players? To get rid of that takes a long time. Stability is really important.

“Jurgen Klopp has been be at Liverpool for five seas seasons. Each year he’s improv improved but it took time to get players he didn’t fancy out. It’s not just about bringing them in.”
