Hot tempers & cold stars in I’m A Celeb

- ■ by ED GLEAVE

CHILLY weather is set to make I’m A Celebrity more gripping than ever.

The reality show is moving from Australia to Wales for this year’s series because of the way the pandemic is affecting international travel.

It means campmates will be forced to endure three weeks of miserable weather instead of enjoying sunshine.

And former contestant Jake Quickenden, 31, predicts that will spark rows.

The singer, inset, who was a finalist in 2014, said: “The cold will make a big difference to what happens this series – especially if it rains all the time. The worst times I had in camp were when it rained. I hated it.

“The show will have more drama this year because rain makes people angry.

“If it rains a lot, that will cause a lot more tension. Hopefully they will be in bad moods, because that will make good TV.

“Producers need to make sure they’re all living outside so they have to deal with the weather.”

This year’s series is being filmed in Abergele, north Wales.

ITV bosses are paying a reported £1million to hire Gwrych Castle during November.

The region usually suffers heavy rainfall and temperatures of 4C at that time of year.

It will be a world away from the balmy climate enjoyed in Oz. Producers are working around the clock to get the new location ready.

Stars rumoured to have signed up include presenter Vernon Kay, former Strictly dancer AJ Pritchard and ex-footballer John Barnes.

Jake joined Malibu to launch its Coconut Challenge last week.
