ON THE UP: How Si could look on a stairlift in his mansion

CROCKED Simon Cowell is to get stairlifts installed at his mansions after his bike accident, pals claim.

The music mogul’s properties in London, LA and Malibu will have to be made “disability ready” in time for his return from hospital, a source said.

Cowell is being treated for a broken back after he smashed it in three places.

Our insider said: “Simon’s partner Lauren has already been told she is going to have to start adapting his homes before he leaves hospital.

“The changes will involve fitting stairlifts, walk-in baths and rails all over the properties.

“They will also have physio equipment and new gym gear fitted for his recovery.

“These aren’t going to be small renovations.”

Cowell hopes to be home today after defying doctors’ expectations by walking and starting rehab for his spine and “fused discs”.

The 60-year-old wants to return to his Malibu home where he will be reunited with son

Eric, as they have been separated because of strict Covid-19 rules in hospital. Cowell was riding his new electric trail bike in Malibu last Saturday when he fell off.

The determined star told aides he was determined to return to his primetime show America’s Got Talent at least for the final on September 23.

A business associate of Cowell said: “Simon hopes to be home in another day or so.

“He is taking it day by day but is in good spirits.

“Usually people can need two weeks before returning home, but he is ahead of schedule.”
