FRANK LAMPARD’S great work ethic has spread throughout Chelsea in just one year as boss.

From the senior squad right down to the junior ranks, s, the impact of the Lampard rd revolution at Stamford Bridge i s evident, according to Blues Academy supremo

Neil Bath.

A personal drive to be the best player possible was Lamps’ s’ trademark during 13 years ears banging in the goals at Chelsea.

And those characteristics on the training ground are already being employed at every level inside the club, as Lampard’s managerial influence stretches way beyond Mason Mount and Co.

Bath said: “When Frank became manager last year he asked, ‘Neil, what are the young lads like with their extras?’ That’s his language for staying out after training, doing the finishing, running, box-to-box, everyt everything.

“A “And it’s incredible th that he has now put t that all in place right across the club. “You walk by the training ground and see the young firstte team players doing the their extras.

“Th “The effect that’s had on the club is that now, from the 23-year-olds to the 18-year-olds to the young ones, they’re all doing their extras – just like Frank’s first team.”

That dedicated, tunnel-vision approach which served Lampard so well will take Chelsea’s academy another step towards being the best on the planet. Bath has been there since the start of a new process in 2004 and believes they are close to becoming the envy of world football.

“We had this vision 15 years ago to be the best academy in the world – and we’re going in the right direction,” said Bath (left).

“I’m really proud to have young players in the first team – 30 per cent of Chelsea’s Premier League minutes last season were played by our graduates.”

It is not only technical skills that Lampard looks for when young lads are ready for first-team action.

The Blues boss, 42, also demands that individuals are grounded away from the pitch.

Bath added: “When Frank gets back to me and says, ‘Neil, the lads are doing well but, bloody hell, they’re such good lads’, that’s a real plus.

“It’s all about them fulfilling potential – on and off the pitch.’’
