LOVE IS IN THE

Hazard’s dream duo

- ALEX WOOD

TOTTENHAM legend Micky Hazard says he would LOVE to see Gareth Bale playing alongside Harry Kane.

The Wales international left the Premier League in 2013 after Real Madrid paid £85million for his services.

Since moving to the Bernabeu, Bale, 31, has won La Liga twice and four Champions Leagues.

However, his relationship with Real boss Zinedine Zidane is strained and he has made just 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

A departure could be on the cards and Hazard (below) is keen to see the forward back in north London.

“Would I want to see him back in a Tottenham shirt? 100 per cent, without a doubt,” he said.

“Anyone who says Bale wouldn’t offer Tottenham anything is lying.

“I sincerely hope he gets his career back on track because he’s such a special talent. I have no doubt he still loves the game.

“But unfortunately his usefulness to Wales is now also impacted by the fact he isn’t playing.

“Usually I’m a great believer in top players not coming back. But in Bale’s case I am not necessarily against it.

“I just think that sometimes it’s hard to achieve the same levels of performance. You don’t want that at legacy to be undermined.

“But whether he comes back or not, I want to see this resolved. The stalemate at Real is a tragedy.”

A Premier League return would see Bale link up with Tottenham m talisman Kane, who has previously sly been in Zidane’s sights.

But Hazard, who was an FA Cup and UEFA Cup winner with Spurs in the early 1980s, says he doesn’t expect the England striker to turn his back on his boyhood club any time soon.

“Whatever he does, he’s always going to be a legend,” he said.

“But imagine if he went on to fulfil his own dream and beat

Jimmy Greaves’ record. He’d become a God-like figure.

“He has stated before that if he’s not winning trophies he’ll have a rethink.

“But I’m very confident with Kane because he’s a top man who has been brought up very well. He’s loyal and honest. “I’d expect p him to be here for at least another two yea years. After that, what Spurs win will dicta dictate his long-term plans.

“He could go to any club in the world but at the moment he’s still a Tottenham boy.

“One of the hardest decisions you’ll ever make is leaving a club where you’ve risen up through the yo youth system. It gets into your heart and soul.

“Wi “Winning trophies will lift his spirts – and the fans’ fa – because I’m sure that he is desperate to succeed at Tottenham.”
