HARRY Maguire got into a brawl with a group of Brits after his teenage sister was “stabbed in the arm”.

The Manchester United captain was arrested this week after being caught up in the fight. He was expected to fly home from Greece this morning on a private jet.

Maguire was allegedly goaded by fans of rival clubs about the 1958 Munich air disaster in which 23, including United players, died. According to sources in Greece, the altercation turned nasty when his younger sister Daisy, 19, was “stabbed with a sharp object” during the bust-up – drawing blood.

Maguire was last night facing up to three years in a Greek jail. But locals said if convicted he could pay £90,000 to keep his freedom under controversial laws designed to limit the country’s prison population.

Maguire, 27, was cleared to return to the UK after being held in a prison cell for two nights. He faced a two-hour grilling in a court in Syros yesterday morning after a fight in Mykonos on Thursday.

Maguire and two other men were arrested. A police file includes accusations of “violence against officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an official”. Lawyer Panagiotis Petropoulos, vice president of the Piraeus Bar Association, said: “The maximum sentencing for those offences could be up to seven-and-a-half years.

“However, in the Greek penal system any jail sentence up to three years can be bought, meaning Mr Maguire can pay a set fee to avoid jail.”

It is not clear what specific charges the England defender faces.

The footballer, who earns £190,000 a week, has denied all allegations.

A brawl broke out between Maguire and his pals and another group of Brits outside the nightclub Fabrika.

But when plain-clothed police came to break it up, Maguire was allegedly “verbally abusive to an officer an and then hit him”. Police said two officers suffered facial injuries after th they were hurled to the ground, pun punched and kicked. Initial r reports said police had accused Maguire of trying to bribe an a officer.

Bu But local reports said that was not the case and that the there had been a “m “misunderstanding”. The Three Lions star made no comment as he left court yesterday in a cap and face mask. When asked if he was a fre free man, his lawyer said: “Ri “Right now, yes.”

A trial is set for Tuesday but he does not have to attend as the offence is classed as a “mi “misdemeanour”.

A spoke spokesman for his club said: “It would be b inappropriate for the player or club to comment further yet.”
