Leering Geordie lads binned

GEORDIES are the most likely to be dumped by their partner for eyeing up other women.

Researchers discovered feisty Newcastle lasses are the least likely women in Britain to tolerate a bloke with a wandering eye.

Nearly two-thirds (58%) of hot-blooded Geordie girls said they had given a bloke the elbow for leering.

They said lame excuses such as “I was only looking, pet” made things worse.

And in the hometown of Viz Comic’s Sid the Sexist character (inset), women were more likely to ditch a partner who said it.

Nationwide, a third of women – 31% – said they had dumped a partner after catching him eyeing up another woman.

They said it was almost as offensive to them as catching their fella kissing or sleeping with another woman. And females from Manchester are almost as unforgiving as in Newcastle, with

45% saying they binned a partner for ogling.

Those from Belfast agreed, with 40% saying they ended a relationship after their partner eyed up friends and other women.

In 12th place, Glasgow gals were the most tolerant of a wandering eye. Just

9% had dropped a man for ogling other women.

Dating website saucydates.com asked 1,002 of its female UK members if they had dumped a man for staring at other women.

Spokesman David Minns said: “We were really astonished by the findings. You might expect women to dump men for infidelity such as an affair.

“But it seems eyeing up a potential new partner while you are still with your current partner is just as deeply wounding. “And if you are a Geordie lass, you just don’t think twice about showing your man the door.” Elsewhere, women in Southampton came fourth, with 33% saying they dumped their man after spotting his eyes out on stalks. In Exeter, 30% of women said the same, putting them fifth, with Birmingham sixth on 27%. Nottingham rated seventh on

24%, followed by Sheffield in eighth on 23%, Norwich ninth on

20%, London 10th on 13% and Cardiff 11th on 11%.
