‘I’m the happiest
Saffron Barker’s in a giggly mood when we catch up. But it’s no surprise she’s grinning like a Cheshire cat – she’s in love and she’s not afraid who knows it. The 20 year old recently revealed she’s got a new boyfriend, Tyler Dixon, by introducing him on her YouTube channel. The pair caught each other’s attention on Instagram and after speaking for months during lockdown, they finally met in person, sparks flew and the rest is history. Since, they’ve enjoyed lots of romantic dates and they even went on holiday together to Santorini.
But Tyler isn’t the only new love in Saffron’s life. After taking part in last year’s Strictly, she’s fallen head over heels for fitness and is in the best shape of her life after transforming her exercise regime.
Here, Saffron gives us the gossip on her blossoming relationship, body confidence and why Strictly has reignited her love of performing…
‘You alwaysfind someonewhen you’re not looking – it was unexpected’
Hi Saffron. How are you and Tyler getting on?
We’ve been together for a few months and I’m definitely happier than ever. It’s crazy because I feel like you always find someone when you’re not looking for it. It was really unexpected for me and I didn’t think it was ever going to be something I’d share online, to be honest.
So why did it feel like the right time?
My work is my personal life so it’s hard to have that balance. But it got to the point where everyone knew that I had a boyfriend and when you’re with someone new, you want to show them off. There was never a plan of, ‘OK, today’s the day.’ It just happened.
What date have you enjoyed the most so far?
Because we haven’t been able to go out, we’ve spent more time together and getting to know each other. It’s actually really nice rather than doing all the fancy stuff. But we also went to Santorini together, so we’ve had our first holiday, which was lovely.
