DEN LITTLE EARNER

Show’s stellar line-up

- EXCLUSIVE by ED GLEAVE TV Editor

DENISE Van Outen has signed up for Dancing On Ice, we can reveal.

The TV star has landed a big-money deal to compete in the new series.

A show insider said: “After some topsecret negotiations, Denise was offered the chance to take part and she jumped at the chance. She’s signed a deal worth around £40,000.

“Bosses are thrilled to have her on board. They know she will give it her all in training and be popular with viewers.”

Denise was picked to be a contestant after impressing at an audition last month.

Producers are now tipping the 46-year-old to be a frontrunner when the series kicks off in January.

The mum of one has got two decades of performing experience under her belt.

Over the years she has starred in a string of musicals which involved choreographed routines.

In 2012 she made the final of Strictly Come Dancing and was praised by the judges for her technique.

Our insider added: “Denise is going to have the edge on many of the other celebrities because she has plenty of experience of performing. However, there is no guarantee she will be able to skate well, so anything could happen.” Denise is due to start training for the show within weeks.

But producers are yet to tell her which professional skater she will be paired with. The presenter, pictured inset with boyfriend Eddie Boxshall, is taking part despite claims the show is jinxed because it has ruined so many relationships – just like its BBC rival Strictly. Denise shot to fame on The Big Breakfast in 1997 and has recently starred on Celebrity Gogglebox, alongside Eddie.

A host of other celebrities are in the running for the new series.

At least 20 have been seen attending an audition, but only 12 will get in. Potential contestants include former footballer Wayne Bridge, sitcom star Vicki Michelle, singer Toyah Wilcox, Blue’s Antony Costa, Towie’s Billie Faiers and darts star Fallon Sherrock.

A show source said: “There are some really great names in the mix. Producers are confident of a stellar line-up.”
