TOWIE’s Bobby Norris fills us in on his jaw-dropping six-pack transformation and how he got so ripped

- Rianne Ison

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you! That really is The Only Way Is Essex star Bobby Norris. The 34 year old recently unveiled the results of his new fitness regime by posting incredible before and after snaps on Instagram. But just how did he achieve that rippling six-pack?!

When we catch up with the reality star, he can’t wait to tell us about overhauling his exercise and eating habits after he worked with fitness expert Scott Harrison on his intense 75-day programme, The Six Pack Revolution. Now, Bobby’s got his sights set on maintaining his new body and is fitting in exercise around his filming commitments for TOWIE’s explosive 10th anniversary series. Here, he reveals more about getting buff and why he’s got the last laugh over trolls…

Bobby, you look amazing…

Thank you so much. Honestly, I’ve never felt better. Not just for how I look, but for my mind as well. My training has become my go-to. I turned 30 a few years ago and had always dreamed of getting fit. But I never had the confidence and had never been able to achieve that kind of body. Then I found out about Scott and he said he could help me.

Why was it the right time?

I wanted change. The trolling had got so bad for me, the lockdown situation was no good for people’s minds – I’m always better when I’m busy and I’m not great with time on my hands. So to have something to focus on and train hard for was good. I’ve tried to take a positive from it and turn the haters into my motivators.

What exercises do you do now?

I’ve been doing a lot of weights, ropes and boxing. I would never, ever have been one of those guys who would put wraps and boxing gloves on before, but I really enjoy it. I’ve got the total fitness bug now and I want to go from strength to strength. This is just the beginning for me. I will continue doing this for the rest of my life.

Has your diet changed?

It’s a complete other level. Before, I would drink quite a few Red Bulls a day. I was very much a snacker and would pick the wrong foods.

I wouldn’t think anything of having fast food and takeaways. I wasn’t fuelling my body with what it needs, whereas now I eat very clean – a lot of chicken and green veg, steak and fish. It makes such a difference.

What about cheat days? Is booze off the cards?

That’s not part of the fitness plan, but I have had a couple since finishing my transformation. But, again, I didn’t really miss it. I like getting up early and doing my training in the morning. If you’re waking up after a couple of gin and tonics to go to the gym and train, you end up losing the incentive. I’ve stopped smoking, too, which my body is thanking me for.

How tough has it been?

I’m not going to deny it’s hard. But to achieve something you’ve never had, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done. I was too in my comfort zone before and wanted the challenge. You never regret a training session. You might be shattered after you’ve given it your all, but you feel good for it.

What do you think when you look at the before and after photos?

It still shocks me. When you’re getting up every day and looking in the mirror, you get used to how you look. Now, when I look at the pictures, I can see how different I look. I wish I’d done this so long ago – it’s changed my life.

We can’t wait for 10-year celebrations…

TOWIE’s

It’s going to be really exciting. We’ve had a couple of old faces come back and join us. It’s back with a bang. Everything that TOWIE’s known for – and people love it for – it delivers.

He’s enjoying boxing

You have to live, and it’s nice to still have treats. I don’t ever want to feel like I’m resenting what I’m eating. But the diet is my new normality. I’ve never gone hungry, I’ve always felt full from my meals and have enjoyed them. Everything’s balanced.

‘I wish I’d done this so long ago – it’s changed my life’

How has the show changed your life?

When I joined it was such a new thing, so none of us ever dreamed we would even last a year. I feel so blessed and grateful for every door that it’s opened for me. I’ve done some crazy things, have met some incredible people and have some amazing memories. Long may it continue!
