Helen Flanagan has never been one to shy away from stripping off in front of the cameras. In fact, having just turned 30, she’s now more body confident than ever – telling us that just because she’s a mum, doesn’t mean she can’t still be sexy! And we definitely agree with that.

Having just announced that she’s expecting her third child in March, Helen is loving life at the moment. A proud mum to two girls, Matilda, five, and Delilah, two, with her fiancé, footballer Scott Sinclair, the family enjoyed the time they spent together during lockdown. And now they’re on the countdown to welcoming their next addition in the spring, as well as hopefully hearing wedding bells in the nottoo-distant future.

We chat to the former Corrie star about fashion, motherhood and how she and Scott keep the romance alive after 11 years together…

Your new Pour Moi collection is beautiful, Helen! How important is good lingerie for you?

I always shop with Pour Moi and really like it. I’m a mum-of-two but I still want to feel glamorous, sexy, confident, classy and great. So I began to work with them and it’s really nice because the company had a campaign called

Let’s Do This in lockdown where they raised £107,000 for charity. To be a part of that and give back and raise some money was great. The brand celebrates women of all different shapes and sizes, from a size 8 to a size 22. The quality is amazing and it’s affordable.

Do you have a favourite from the set?

The Opulence bralette set is one of my favourite pieces from the edit. It’s in Christmas colours as well, what with Christmas round the corner…

TV LIFE

Do you still feel body confident since becoming a mum?

I’ve always been really body confident. I’ve been a child actress, on Coronation Street, acting since I was nine. And I’ve modelled since I was in my twenties. I think as you get older you grow in confidence and happiness within yourself, so I’m more body confident now than ever.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

I am so excited. I had hyperemesis gravidarum [severe nausea and vomiting] but I’m coming out of it now so I’m just really grateful.

Are the girls excited?

Matilda is so excited, Delilah is still a bit young. But Matilda is such a sweet-natured little girl. There’s a week between their birthdays so when Delilah was born, a week later Matilda turned three, so Matilda is a loving sister and I know she’ll be amazing again. I just make sure I share the attention out for my girls, make sure that I’m doing different things with both of them equally, so I know they’ll both really enjoy

another sibling.

What’s your favourite thing about being a mum?

I love everything about it. I’ve always wanted to be a mum so I’m really excited about my third pregnancy.

What do you do just for you?

I have an online fitness programme, which has been perfect for me in lockdown. It’s called Mumma Fit on an app called TV.Fit, which I started when Delilah was six months. I developed it with a pre- and post-natal expert and we created a programme that’s perfect for all women with babies. I didn’t want it to focus on weight loss – I don’t agree with mums facing pressure to lose weight when they’ve just had a baby – so the workouts are about repairing your body after labour with nutritional, healthy advice. It’s divided into two. Mumma Calm is all about relaxing and calming your mind and Mumma Power is great for fitness.

How do you relax?

I’m a really busy working mum so it’s yoga for me. I find that really helps.

How was lockdown for you?

I enjoyed it! We went down to Bath and stayed with Scott’s parents, which was really lovely.

My fiancé plays for Preston, which is up north, so it was nice to spend time with his family and enjoy being with the girls. There was a lot of homeschooling plus fun activities and now that the rules have lifted a bit, they’re back at their swimming, drama and dance classes.

How are your wedding plans coming along?

We really can’t wait to get married but we’re unsure about what we want to do. My sister was supposed to get married this summer but her plans got cancelled because of coronavirus – so many people don’t know what to do. We want to get married soon. We keep umming and ahing about it but everybody is in the same boat.

What’s the trick to your longlasting relationship?

We’ve been together for 11 years so we’re doing something right! I think we just make sure we have fun together, lots of banter. It’s important to make time to be just a couple and not always parents. We try to go for dinner – it’s just nice doing anything like that. He plays football and has two games a week, so it’s always so busy in the house. I’ve got work and the girls, too – and they have activities every single day.

Happy 30th for August! What did you do?

‘I’m a mum-of-two but still want to feel glamorous, sexy and classy!’

Well, it wasn’t the 30th I imagined. I couldn’t have my family or friends around so it was just us lot. I was pregnant too so I wasn’t very well. I was being sick but my fiancé did a Harry Potter party, which the kids really enjoyed. He also did a video with clips from all my friends and family, so that was really nice.

Do you feel different now you’re in your thirties?

I just feel happier in myself.

What are you like day-to-day when it comes to beauty?

I don’t actually wear make-up on days when I’m not working or going somewhere. I let my skin breathe and just stick my hair up in a bun.

Do you still like to get glam up?

Oh yeah, I’m very much a girlie girl. I love getting dressed up. I like to have fun with what I wear and usually plan it in advance. I’m definitely a high street girl, so nice dresses and heels. If I go on a night

out, I like to prepare the day before. As a mum you don’t get to go out all the time so I’ll make the effort when I do – get a tan, have my nails done, all of it.

You’re really passionate about having non-retouched photos on your socials. Why is that?

I just think you see a lot of overly edited pictures and I want mine to look really natural. I like to share

my life on Instagram and be honest with it. I’ve been modelling for a long time, I know my angles really well, I know the lighting I need and before Covid, if I went on a night out, my friends would always ask me to take their pictures.
