Five alive to Super challenge

- With Jason Bell

WE’RE at the point in the season where everything has started to shake out and we can see who are the top teams.

In my mind, there are five real Super Bowl contenders at the moment – Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Baltimore and Seattle.

We know what they do well, they have their identity and without pre-season that’s been the key.

They’re playing to their strengths. If they know they’re a dominant defence, they have an offence that complements what they do and the same if they have an explosive defence.

They all score a lot of points, apart from Pittsburgh, who are the dominant defence in the NFL this year.

They’re all well-balanced teams who look like main contenders right now but one of the undefeated records will go when the Steelers face the Titans today.

I think the Titans will win but the match-up is all about their offence against the Steelers’ defence.

Ryan Tannehill has been electric and with Derrick Henry running the ball so well, he’s dangerous off the play action pass.

This game will show the dominant force in the AFC.

Of the teams just bubbling beneath, I really like Tampa Bay right now.

Their defence is looking so good, they really stepped it up against Green Bay and Tom Brady is getting better every week.

The Packers are 100 per cent still there. Aaron Rodgers (above) is having a great year and Buffalo, even though they lost, are still a great team.

But Josh Allen isn’t playing as well as he was at the beginning of the season and in my mind those teams aren’t quite as comfortable with what they’re doing as the five teams I mentioned.
