Kemp: It’s True! Ghost saved me
SPIRIT ‘LEN’ GUIDED HIM FROM SMASH
MARTIN Kemp says he has a spirit guide called Len who once saved his life.
He believes the “friendly ghost” has visited him thousands of times.
The Spandau Ballet star first encountered the presence when it stopped him being run over on the way to school.
Martin, 59, said: “One morning, I left the house t thinking about the day ahead... when I heard a v voice in my ear, as if someone was talking to me.
“It was a voice talking to me directly, as though they needed to tell me something really important. It was a man’s voice, clear and deep.
“The voic voice seemed to speak slowly, as if it wanted to make m sure I wasn’t going to be scared. It simply sai said, ‘Go back inside the house.’ I starte ed to walk back b towards the front door, trying to m make sense of what had happened, when I heard an almighty bang.
“A Ford Cortina had careered into the space between two cars parked in the th road – the exact space I would have been standing standi if I hadn’t heard the voice.”
Martin said sa he and a school pal called Steve used a Ouija board for the first time about a year later. And th that was when he met his ghostly pal.
He said: “We sat watching the glass spin around the old-fashioned Ouija board, spelling out ‘A MESS MESSAGE FOR MARTIN’. The room felt a little cooler. ‘Let’s see what it says,’ I muttered. ‘I AM YOUR G GUIDE. MY NAME IS LEN.’
“My heart hear was hammering in my chest. Who was Len? W Why was he guiding me?”
He confid confided in his mum, who said Len was a foreman at t the printworks where his dad worked.
“She expl explained, ‘He died a few years ago. He knew all about abo you and [Martin’s brother] Gary.’
“I still think thin it’s Len who managed to save my life. There must have been thousands of tiny moments when w Len was looking out for me over the years.”
The story is in Martin and his wife Shirlie’s book – It’s a Love Story. £20, mirrorbooks.co.uk.
