Bros to boss

WILLIAMS’ NOVICE HAS GOT LOOK OF A FUTURE STAR

- JACOBS’ FIVE-TIME NAPS TABLE CHAMP MOORESTYLE’S BEST BETS…

THERE are some familiar faces set to line up in the big novice chase at Exeter (12.33) today trying to make their way over fences this season and FADO DES BROSSES could prove the best of them for trainer Evan Williams.

This French-bred horse seemed to relish the deep ground when landing a novice hurdle at Chepstow in January but chasing was always going to be his game.

A scopey individual, he should have the talent to see off the more experienced The Mighty Don and recent winner The Wolf.

Later on at the Devon track, GO MILLIE GO (1.03) may defy top weight in the mares’ novices’ hurdle, while NIGHT OF SIN

(2.08) figures off a fair handicap mark in the two-mile chase.

BRETNEY (3.18) has been brought along steadily by the shrewd Henry Daly but should be up to opening his career account in the penultimate event.

The mount of Richard Johnson, the fiveyear-old has his best days ahead of him and shaped really well last time out at Uttoxeter.

With course form figures of 0321, OH LAND ABLOOM (3.03) is obviously well suited to the flat Uttoxeter track and can chalk up his fifth career victory in the veterans’ event.

The 10-year-old has the advantage of a run under his belt – a cracking second at Huntingdon behind one of his rivals here, The Fresh Prince – and can reverse those placings back at his favourite track.

The Skelton clan normally farm the cards at the Potteries course but may only have one winner to show for their efforts today in the finale with RIGGS (3.38, nap).

The Mahler gelding looked in need of his seasonal debut at Ascot last month and could be well treated off his opening handicap mark over timber of 115 and is made my top selection of the day.

The sole all-weather flat card is at Wolverhampton and POYLE VINNIE (3.25) from the Ruth Carr stable strikes me as a winner waiting to happen in the sprint handicap.

Since a mid-season break, the veteran has run two solid races at Southwell and Pontefract and on his best form from last year, he looks absolutely chucked in here off a rating of 77.

SHINE ON BRENDAN (4.30) ran the best race of his career on his debut at the Dunstall Park track in November 2019 and returns to the Tapeta track for the first time since.

With the reliable David Probert on board, the three-year-old can make the most of the weight he is set to receive from his rivals including the consistent but infuriating Inner Circle and course and distance winner Baltic Prince.
