CHAMPIONSHIP Teem spirit PUKKI IS HERO

- By Lindsay Sutton

TEEMU PUKKI’S deadly double took his Norwich goal tally to 50 to celebrate his 100th turnout for the table-topping Canaries.

His breakthrough goal was a cracking opportunist strike, struck low and at an acute angle just inside the post.

His second showed his guile as he deflected an effort by Emiliano Buendia past Rovers keeper Thomas Kaminski, who was left completely helpless as the ball spun wickedly past him.

Between Pukki’s goals, teenager Harvey Elliott, on loan from Liverpool, looked to have pulled Blackburn back into the game.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke said: “Teemu is pretty special.

“To get his 50th goal in this centenary game shows his hunger and his quality. He is a quality player with a quality personality.

“He was relentless, and his second goal shows his creativity and his seeking out of space. It was probably one of his best games in the yellow shirt.”

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray said: “I think we were the dominant team, and thought we would go on to win.

“Their second goal came out of nowhere – a

20-yard shot that was deflected in. But we have to take it on the chin.”
