Dyer family rumpus.. over a game of chess

- EXCLUSIVE by DAVID O’DORNAN

DANNY Dyer’s house went pawn crackers because of a chess set.

The EastEnders star bought it to beat lockdown boredom.

But after teaching his kids Sunnie, 13, and seven-year-old Arty how to play, it all kicked off.

Danny, 43, moaned: “They was fighting the other day, yeah, they was having a tear-up over a game.

“I tell you what it was over – chess.

“I thought I was going to teach them a really nice sophisticated game and they learnt it.

“And I love watching them play, you know, it’s really an emotional thing for me.

“And then, of course, Arty lost and he just swiped all of the f***ing pieces on to the floor.

“He stormed off. Sunnie was winding him up.

“So kids fighting over chess – I never thought that would ever be the f***ing case.”

Danny, who plays Mick Carter in the soap, told his daughter

BAD MOVE: Danny said his kids blew up over the game

Dani, 24, on their podcast that her brother and sister were “proper fighting”.

He added: “But it’s inevitable, sibling rivalry. I think it’s a healthy thing.

“I think Sunnie and Arty have definitely got it.”

Love Island star Dani, who is expecting her first child with partner Sammy Kimmence later this year, said she knew her dad was fond of his new game.

She said: “That’s a right good little bit of chess you’ve got there, that board an’ all, very poncey, very Chelsea.”

Danny replied: “Well, I went for it, didn’t I? It was a lockdown chess board I bought.

“That’s why I was p***ed off, because he swiped the board, with that noise of all those pieces.”
