King’s value shown by two-goal salvo

BOURNEMOUTH will be sticking another £5million on want-away striker Josh King’s price tag after his double against Oldham.

King was eager to leave the Cherries in the summer after they were relegated from the Premier League.

West Ham have been linked with his signature this month with King out of contract in the summer.

And he stuck himself in the shop window with a classy secondhalf double to bag his first goals since the last day of last season.

David Brooks gave the Cherries the lead but Dylan Bahamboula levelled from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time.

Rodrigo Riquelme put Bournemouth back in front after the break and King headed in the third, before slotting in a fourth with four minutes left.

Boss Jason Tindall joked the Cherries can try to squeeze a few more pennies for the former Manchester United youngster.

“It might have put another £5million on his price tag,” he said. “He has been very good in the last couple of weeks. I can’t question how he’s trained and how his attitude has been. All the speculation is in the past and has been put aside and not really been thought about.”

Oldham were originally drawn as the home side before a last-minute switch due to a frozen pitch.

Manager Harry Kewell lost his bearings on his way to the Vitality Stadium Press room.

But Tindall said: “I know Stephen Purches, their assistant manager, was talking to Harry before the match and he was pleased that the game was moved to here.”
