Parker counting on his Bobby dazzler

- RON LEWIS

SCOTT PARKER believes Bobby Decordova-Reid’s goalscoring knack could fire Fulham to Premier League safety.

Goals from Decordova-Reid and Neeskens Kebano in the first period of extra time sent the Cottagers into the next round of the FA Cup.

Macauley Bonne and Lyndon Dykes failed to hit the target with great chances for Championship strugglers QPR.

And after Aleksandar Mitrovic went close three times for Fulham, it needed extra time to split the sides.

“Bobby has a real knack of being in the right areas and has an eye for a goal,” said Fulham boss Parker.

“We are going to need someone who can get goals and he has been fantastic for us.”

It was Fulham’s first game since Boxing Day after a Covid outbreak at the club.

“We are unbeaten now in five and got a clean sheet too. There were a lot of positives,” added Parker.

Both sides had chances to win it in 90 minutes but it took until two minutes from the end of the first period of extra time for Decordova-Reid to break the deadlock.

He played a one-two with Mitrovic before curling a low shot into the corner.

As QPR pushed forward, Fulham added a second when Josh Onomah teed up Kebano to fire home.

QPR boss Mark Warburton said: “We went toe-to-toe with a good Premier League side and created four or five gilt-edged chances.

“It’s the same old story, we have to take them but once again we haven’t. I’m like a broken record.”
