Mum says tragic teen was taken
THE mum of a teenager found dead in a Malaysian jungle insists there is “compelling evidence” that she was abducted.
The body of Nora Quoirin, 15, was found nine days after she went missing on holiday in August 2019.
She was discovered naked over a mile from the family’s resort.
An inquest into her death ruled Nora’s death was accidental rather than criminal, with no thirdparty involvement.
But in an interview with Irish broadcaster RTE, Nora’s mother Meabh said the inquest raised “a great deal about what went on during those 10 days when Nora was missing”.
The family heard “compelling evidence” to support their view that she was abducted, Meabh said.
Nora was born with a brain disorder and her mental age was about six.
Her family plan to ask the Malaysian High Court for a re-examination of the inquest evidence.
