Jo wishes to go light as feather

-

JOANNA Lumley says she wants to be buried with her favourite bird feathers.

The actress said her appearance in Finding Alice had made her think about her death.

Joanna, 74, said: “It did make me wonder, ‘What is wrong with the idea of being buried in the garden at home?’

“I think we’d all love to be in our sweet land, no matter how sweet or humble it is.

“I collect wild and beautiful bird feathers so I’d like my big vulture feather and my red kite feather and some others.

“Some shells from my time on my desert island and some books in case I can read on the other side.

“I would like to take some kind of handwriting from those I love very dearly – obviously my husband, my son and my sister.”

Joanna added: “I hope Finding Alice prompts people to talk about death, even if it is just about the practicalities. Get it all sorted before you go.”
