JURG: I’M Boss dial..

In a Harry to big up Bailly

- STEVE BATES

HARRY MAGUIRE says his partnership with Eric Bailly is blossoming into something really special.

The pair have started United’s last four Premier League games together. And that spell has seen the Red Devils go unbeaten, with injury-prone Ivory Coast defender Bailly, 26 (below) finally putting together a run of form that’s coincided with his side going top. As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team head to Anfield today for a titanic clash with their deadly rivals, Maguire believes his pacey partner is a perfect foil for his own attributes.

The England man, 27, said: “Eric has played really well since he’s been free from injury and we have formed a really good partnership.

“It’s a nice partnership that has blossomed over the last month. And it’s a great position to be in because we have Victor Lindelof and Axel Tuanzebe pushing us too.

“That can only push you to perform even better.” Maguire has been the foundation of United’s defence, helping create a solid foundation from which Solskjaer’s attacking stars can cause mayhem.

And he is drawing on his experiences with Sheffield United to make sure he puts his body on the line.

He added: “I played in League One so you’re learning about heading, blocking, tackling and the rest in a really tough environment. “The main thing isn’t about stepping out and knocking long diagonal balls – it’s about keeping the ball out of your own net.”
