Frank (the late Bobby Ball) has told his fair share of porky pies in the past. When Lee’s feckless dad first arrived in the show in 2009, he claimed he was on death’s door and then continued to try to manipulate his son into letting him stay with him at the flat.

Although the pair’s relationship has mellowed in recent years, Lee still takes everything his father says with a pinch of salt – so when Frank announces his engagement tonight, Lee is sceptical and finds it difficult to believe that any woman would want to marry him.

Once he’s established his dad could actually be telling the truth, he sets out to find out what exactly is wrong with the woman (played by Coronation Street and Mrs Brown’s Boys actress Susie Blake).
