DEAD CLEAN Warning over risky housework hacks

DOMESTIC cats are thought to have driven 33 species to extinction.

They are very effective predators and can wipe out endangered wildlife.

Unlike our wild predators that switch to other prey or locations when food becomes scarce, domestic cats that are fed will continue to hunt and kill even when their prey populations are in decline.

FITNESS fanatic Zhang Enshun, 42, makes heavy work of walking 300 yards a day in steel boots weighing 12st each in Yulin, China.

SOME cleaning hacks being shared online could be deadly.

Combining chemicals like bleach, ammonia or vinegar can produce deadly fumes which cause organ damage, burn skin and attack the lungs.

The success of influencers like Mrs Hinch have led an army of others to reveal their own ideas on sprucing up homes.

There is no suggestion Mrs Hinch has ever recommended a dangerous mix of chemicals but experts are worried that swapping “hacks”, like the safe mixing of baking soda and vinegar, could lead some to try out far riskier combos.

Lauren Daly from cleaning product company Natrie said: “People make concoctions of different cleaning products thinking it will get things cleaner.

“Do not ever do this. It can be fatal.”

Antimicrobial expert Edward Tennent added: “When it comes to cleaning, especially with chemicals, there are things to be aware of in order to be safe.”

A DIVA dog that refuses to walk in the rain and will only stay in £3,000-a-night villas abroad has forced its owners to sell their new Porsche.

Pampered miniature dachshund Louis “freaked out” in Charlotte Thomson’s £45,000 Porsche Cayenne, so she sold it at a £5,000 loss days later.

Charlotte and partner Joey planned a three-month trip around Europe and didn’t want Louis upset on the journey.

“He is a sensitive little soul,” she said. “When I put Louis in the back he shook like a leaf because it was so noisy.

“He had sweaty paws and completely freaked out.”

It isn’t the first time Louis has put his paw down.

Charlotte said: “Louis has gone full diva on me when it rains and refused to walk.” During the trip, Louis didn’t like sharing hotels either. “Every time someone walked past the room he’d bark,” said Charlotte, of Portreath, Cornwall.

“We had to resort to villas with pools because we had to dunk him when it got hot. We spent about £50k.” after she mixed different cleaning products. One fatal combination is bleach and rubbing alcohol. The fumes can knock you out and kill if you inhale too much.

Even lemon juice or vinegar can produce toxic chlorine gas when combined with bleach.
