OWN FIRST TWEET

- By SIAN HEWITT

A NAKED man was shot by a resident in a block of flats after knocking on doors and waving his willy while clutching a Bible in Florida.

THE first tweet ever sent is being auctioned off – creating an online bidding war.

By last night, the price for the message’s “metadata” had reached a staggering £440,000.

Twitter co-owner Jack Dorsey, above, is selling the rights to his message – “just setting up my twttr” – on a new site known as Valuables by Cent.

Old offers for the tweet suggest it was listed in December but it gained more attention on Friday after Dorsey tweeted about it.

Within minutes of posting his message, bids had soared to £60,000.

The tweet, which was originally sent in March 2006, is being sold as a “non fungible token” (NFT) – a file that serves as a digital signature to certify who owns photos, videos and other online media.

The tweet’s buyer will receive a certificate digitally autographed by Jack – signed using cryptography – that will include metadata of the original tweet.

It will continue to be available on the Twitter website.

Valuables by Cent, which launched three months ago, compares the buying of tweets to collecting autographed sports cards.

A spokesman for the company said: “There is only one unique signed version of the tweet and, if the creator agrees to sell, you can own it forever.”

Twitter chief executive officer Jack is estimated to be worth around £9billion.
