at ered looks like the fourth officer will finally be revealed.

There is speculation it could be Steve or his sidekick Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure).

In series five, many viewers feared Ted (Adrian Dunbar) could be corrupt.

Even AC-3 boss Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin), Crime Commissioner Rohan Sindwhani (Ace Bhatti) and Det Chief Con Andrea Wise (Elizabeth Rider) have faced suspicion.

DETECTIVE Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson will come under suspicion in the new series. After her conduct on a murder enquiry raises alarm bells, AC-12 are tasked with investigating her.

Insiders say the officer, who is played by Kelly Macdonald, will “do battle” in tense interview scenes.

Show boss Jed said: “AC-12 get involved because there are question marks over her investigation.”

And Jed promises that his new recruit will be TV gold.

In fact, he has warned: “She is AC-12’s most enigmatic adversary yet.”

Kelly already has an impressive CV after starring in Danny Boyle’s film Trainspotting and the hit TV series Boardwalk Empire. The Scots actress follows in the footsteps of previous guest stars Lennie James, Keeley Hawes, Thandie Newton and Stephen Graham.

LINE Of Duty creator Jed Mercurio has pledged that this won’t be the final series.

The screenwriter wants to keep going because he has more storylines up his sleeve.

Jed said: “I really want to carry on with Line Of Duty.

“I think that season six proves that there is much more ground for us still to cover.

“As a writer you dream of getting to the point where people watch your work in such large numbers.”

The cast are all keen to keep making the show too.

Actor Adrian said: “I think as long as there’s an appetite from our audience for the show, we’ll keep going.

“Why would we stop? Jed has managed to keep the standard so high for so long and people love the show. I hope it does go on.

“At the moment there is a great appetite among all of us involved in the programme to do more.”

Bosses at the BBC are also said to be keen for the show to continue.

It pulls in up to 13million viewers, making it TV’s top drama show.

THE Aliens franchise has had a rocky relationship with videogames.

Arguably the best outing to date was 2016’s Alien Isolation, which skewed more towards horror as a solitary monster stalked you across a derelict ship.

But any game attempting to replicate the gun-toting energy of James Cameron’s Aliens movie has fallen flat on its face.

There is fresh hope, though.

This week, out of the blue, developer Cold Iron Studios announced Aliens: Fireteam, a co-operative third-person survival shooter channelling the same energy of the

It is unlikely to be a game of the year.

But with a huge arsenal of weapons and loads of creatures – from Facehuggers to Praetorians – which you will be able to blast into oblivion, it sure looks like it could be a heap of fun.

Aliens: Fireteam is set for release this summer on PS4,

PS5, Xbox and PC.

GTA V won’t be a “simple port” on PS5, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive has promised.

Quite what this means for GTA VI is anyone’s guess.
