THE RUMBA? RUM BABA’S MORE ME!

MasterChef host rejects Strictly pay day

-

JOHN Torode has turned down a big-money offer to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

Producers were desperate to get the MasterChef host to sign up.

But it seems the only salsa John is interested in is the sort in his kitchen.

He confirmed: “They asked me – I’d love to dance.

“But I’m not doing it. I’m not going to put myself under that sort of pressure.

“It’s not something I want to do… definitely not!”

It seems John wants to stick to what he knows best, so don’t expect to see him on any reality shows any time soon.

He continued: “I’m very happy to be on MasterChef and be part of a great production. I just don’t want to be competing on a television show.”

John watched his MasterChef co-star Gregg Wallace compete on Strictly in 2014… and saw him being voted out in the first week.

I’m guessing that might have put him off the idea a little.

But John insists he is still a big fan of the dance contest.

He said: “I love watching it.

“It’s amazing what people can do on that show. Congratulations to Bill Bailey. Good on him for winning last year. I think that was great.” If foodie fans want to see John they will just have to settle for more MasterChef.

The latest series continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.

Strictly producers are approaching celebrities for this year’s series.

Stars already being tipped to take part in the contest include football legend Rio Ferdinand, Busted singer Matt Willis, former Corrie star Lucy Fallon and TV presenter Angelica Bell.

The new series is due to begin in September.
