BANDS aren’t having an impact these days because too many make average music, according to

The Scottish rockers have just released brilliant debut album W.L., which sounds poised to become a future classic.

They think fellow bands need to buck their ideas up if they want to be as big as solo stars like and

Frontman told me: “I think in the UK we are over-saturated with too many similar sounding bands. It was always hard to stand out as a band in the last 10 years. “There was nothing that blew anyone away. We are conscious of that, we hope our stuff lets people know there is life in guitar music,” added the man from West Lothian.

W.L. is a real diverse bag of songs, ranging from classic indie ballads such as Glasgow to 21st Century anthems like Elephants.

Jack agreed: “We could have made an album full of 10 songs like Glasgow but we decided to take a leap of faith and took more risks with production.

“People in bands are nervous and cautious about moving out of their lane, we were conscious of not trying to be that.” Another stand-out track, Sing For Your

Supper, offers advice to the next generation: “I feel like this lets other bands, who have that dream we had, see what can be done.

“If they work hard enough they have a chance to become the band they want to be.”

The lads recently had to put off their tour until September and they can’t wait to play.

Jack said: “We want to make sure we come out of lockdown a better band, to come back with a real bang.

“People are hungry for it and we will be happy to be part of it.”
